New OFPS mod pack

I've just downloaded all the new OFPS mod packs (Core, Heavy, Light, Air, Gear) and there seems to a lot of new content, which would explain the 2GB size. There's a lot of cool stuff in there, especially from the old ARMA 2 days, but there seems to be a lot of unnecessary stuff... USS Nimitz? Nazi UFO? Globemaster? Will all of these new items be used in the Warfare map mode? Because a lot of this stuff doesn't seem useful at all, and may even negatively impact the immersion of the game. And a new player might be less inclined to start playing on the server if they're forced to download 2GB of addons before they can even play.

I think the new addon system with the Eden update has a lot of potential, but I also think that the current addons could be curated a bit more with the aim of striking a balance between content and accessibility.

P.S Where's the Huey?? :lol:

Nice to hear you already have them downloaded, they however are still in development mode and we are still refining/removing/adding various mods to them as lots of testing is involved. We are aiming to keep the size as small as possible but would like to add as many units as we can to the lacking vanilla toybox, most of these addons are about adding variety and filling in holes in the unit lineup (some are just for fun). I think we should have it more refined by this weekend and possibly ready for some more prime time testing and user feedback. If you have any mods you would like to see added please list them below with a link to the mod page and we will check them out. Each and every mod that makes it into the final pack will be quality tested...

c-17: This is one badass transport, you can airlift up to 2 ai filled tanks then paradrop them anywhere.....which will make main airstrips soo much more valuable.
Nimitz: This will be mainly used as a static map point, maybe a town or simply used as a air land/rearm/refuel station for all the new added air units
UFO: hehe admin fun...the independents have some top secret experiments going on...

If you guys add alot of units please make sure they have good descriptions, IE number of people they can hold, number of crew, Weapon systems and any other important information like lock on ranges if they are different if it has thermal or other vison. Hell some of the units we have right now could use better descriptions.

There is nothing worse for new players picking up a new mod then a laundry list of unbalanced, info less units that we cant tell what they hold, what they do and etc. Does the benny tablet allow text to be added to the unit buyer?

Also would be nice to see some changes to infantry weapons, like a top attack mode for the titan.
